About Asha Jain MA, RD, CDE



Mrs. Jain was born and raised in India. Married to Military Officer and had opportunity to work in Japan for 4 years before started her career in United States.



Currently she works at “Walter Reed National Military Medical Center”
Where she cares for all wounded soldiers, military beneficiaries, foreign
dignitaries as well as their families.


Mrs. Jain has had extensive experience teaching patients with diabetes in group and individualized settings. She provides numerous informal and formal consults and presentations related to diabetes, heart disease, any nutrition and health related topics to patients/family memebers as well as medical providers/staffs. She precepts dietetic interns and medical interns at Walter Reed.


She worked in Geriatric Facilities for 10 years and as consultant with
National Council on Aging, Abbott pharmaceuticals and Joslin Diabetes
Center.


She has had the privilege to work with a culturally diverse population, with different religious backgrounds, cultural values, traditions, and food habits.


She is very sensitive to patient needs and uses her unique experience to assist patients with disease management to better understand the
relationship between nutrition and physical activity to enable them with a very practical approach to make small, but significant changes in their dietary habits. She believes in empowering patients and their families through education, teaching problem solving skills to manage/improve over all health and long life.
