Bridging Cultures and Showcasing the Capital

The chapter proudly hosted JYEP (Jain Youth Exchange Program) students, offering them a unique opportunity to experience the heart of democracy. The students toured the Library of Congress, U.S. Capitol, White House, and the Embassy of India, along with visits to interfaith places of worship, highlighting the diverse cultural and spiritual fabric of the region.

Strategic Planning and Leadership Appointments

In its annual planning and networking meeting, the chapter outlined its goals for the year ahead. This meeting also marked the appointment of new officers:

Mrs. Renu Jain as Chair for JITO USA Washington DC Networking Forum (JNF)

Mr. Sharad Doshi as Chair for JITO USA Washington DC Public Affairs (JPA)

Mrs. Minal Shah as Treasurer for JITO USA Washington DC

Their addition strengthens the chapter’s leadership and sets the stage for meaningful progress.

Membership Growth and Engagement

The chapter welcomed several new members this year. This growth reflects the increasing interest in JITO’s mission and the chapter’s commitment to fostering a sense of community among Jains in the DC area.

Exclusive Experiences for Members

The chapter organized a special White House tour for its members, offering an inside look at one of the nation’s most iconic landmarks.

Members also enjoyed a meet-and-greet with Mr. Jag Mohan, Minister of Community Affairs at the Embassy of India, fostering closer ties with the embassy.

Community Connections with Political Leaders

JITO DC held engaging meet-and-greets with prominent political leaders, including Senator Angela Alsobrooks and Congresswoman April Delaney. These events provided an opportunity to discuss key community issues and showcase the values and contributions of the Jain community.

Innovative Chapter Collaboration

In a groundbreaking first, the DC Chapter partnered with JITO Dallas for a virtual networking event. Members of both chapters introduced themselves, shared aspirations, and explored synergies, underscoring the power of collaboration. The event highlighted DC’s connectivity to the U.S. federal government market and Dallas’ entrepreneurial energy, creating a blueprint for future partnerships.

Looking Ahead

The JITO DC Chapter’s accomplishments this year demonstrate its dedication to creating opportunities for growth, collaboration, and community impact. With strong leadership, increasing membership, and meaningful events, the chapter is well-positioned for continued success.

As the chapter continues its journey, it remains committed to fostering connections, embracing Jain values, and creating a lasting impact on its members and the broader community.
